The NBA playoffs are just a few weeks away and the Philadelphia 76ers are getting their best player back just in time.
According to NBA on TNT, Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Joel Embiid is nearing a return to play this week after months away from the game.
Because of a serious knee injury, surgery, and recovery, Embiid hasn’t played a game since January 30.

It’s hard to overstate just how important this news is for the 76ers.
Embiid is without a doubt the greatest and most important player for the 76ers.
In fact, he is the reigning MVP of the league and was likely about to earn back-to-back trophies this year, if it weren’t for this latest injury.
Without Embiid, the Sixers have slid down in the standings and are now the eighth-best team in the Eastern Conference.
That means they are currently positioned for the upcoming Play-In Tournament, but that can change.
Multiple teams in the East have very close records, which means the 76ers could end up earning entry to the postseason without the Play-In, if they secure a number of wins.
There is no question that Embiid will give the team a huge boost and could lead them to the playoffs.
Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris, Kelly Oubre, and others have been carrying the 76ers without Embiid.
They have come into their own in many ways, although Embiid has been sorely missed.
The return of the reigning MVP could alter the lay of the land in the East and really make things exciting right before the playoffs.
Now that he’s back, Embiid will have to make up for lost time.
