The Denver Nuggets wouldn’t have found this kind of success without Jamal Murray.

As a matter of fact, they kind of struggled in the playoffs when he was hurt.

That’s why the coaching staff must be keeping a close eye on him in the Olympics, as he hasn’t looked sharp at all out there.

He’s coming off the bench for the Canadian team, which made people wonder whether he was hurt.

His numbers have been far from usual, averaging just 5.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game (Via ClutchPoints).

Murray averaged a box plus-minus of -5.3 in the group stage of the Olympics.

He’s currently looking to get a new contract with the Nuggets, so perhaps he’s pressing or being overly cautious about not getting hurt, especially given how much he’s struggled with hamstring injuries in the past.

Reportedly, his knees are not 100% healthy at this moment, either.

Even so, the rest of the world shouldn’t rest on its laurels when it comes to Murray.

We’ve all seen how dominant and explosive he can be as a scorer when he’s inspired and at his best, and — more importantly — when it matters the most.
