There was a time when the most popular and powerful teams in the NBA were the ones from America’s biggest cities, but times have changed.

Washington Wizards star Kyle Kuzma, who used to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, doesn’t think these big cities and their major markets are nearly as important as they once were.

On Twitter, Brett Usher mentioned that some people used to claim that Anthony Edwards needed to play in a bigger market to make a big impact on the league.

But now, Edwards is doing great things for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has starred in a hit movie, has a signature shoe line, and his team is thriving in the West.

Kuzma responded to Usher’s comment by saying: “Big markets don’t matter anymore.”

For the first four years of his career, Kuzma played in the nation’s second-biggest city.

That was a very important time for his career and he earned his first championship with the Lakers.

He then moved to the Wizards, which is definitely a large city but not considered one of the biggest markets in the NBA.

That doesn’t matter to Kuzma and he’s not the only one who believes that a player’s success no longer depends on the size of the city they’re playing for.

Several NBA teams are doing great things even though they are in smaller markets.

Edwards’ Timberwolves are one, as are the Oklahoma City Thunder and Milwaukee Bucks.

The Timberwolves are having one of their best seasons ever and many are starting to believe they could have what it takes to reach the Finals.

If that’s the case, even more people will agree with Kuzma about big markets lacking power.
