The veteran minimum in the NBA these days is a little over $1.1 million per year for a player with no experience and about $3.3 million for players with at least ten years of experience, which should both be enough to support a person and his family and cover at least their basic needs.
However, one NBA star on a massive contract still took a shift at a fast food restaurant on Wednesday despite having a decorated summer, as in this economy, sometimes you have to take on a second job to make ends meet.
Boston Celtics superstar Jrue Holiday won his second NBA Championship in June and followed that up with a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, but none of that stopped him from suiting up for his shift at Raising Cane’s on Wednesday as he worked the register at the popular chicken establishment.

Working at Cane’s was sort of a dream job for Holiday as a kid, so it’s always fun to see a dream come true.

Holiday clocked in for his shift not long after being involved in the opening of said restaurant in downtown Boston, as the restaurant celebrated its 28th birthday on Wednesday by opening its 828th restaurant.
Holiday cut the ribbon alongside former Boston Red Sox superstar David Ortiz as the company welcomed its sixth Raising Cane’s in Massachusetts.
The downside of this is that Holiday is now one bad game away from getting meme’d into oblivion, but at least he has a fallback option now in case this whole basketball thing doesn’t work out for him.
