The Phoenix Suns appeared to possess something of a superteam when they traded for Kevin Durant last season and then landed Bradley Beal this past summer.

Some picked them to reach the NBA Finals when this season began, but they struggled over the first two months of the schedule and were just 14-15 after losing to the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day.

But since then, they have found some momentum and have won 12 of their last 15 games, and they may be able to add a key role player, as per Gerald Bourguet via Hoop Central, veteran forward P.J. Tucker is “definitely” interested in joining them.

Tucker has long been known as an effective 3-and-D player, and despite standing just 6-foot-5, he has a knack for being able to guard players who are taller than him.

He is in his 13th NBA season, and he has plenty of playoff experience, as he won a world championship with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021 and reached the Western Conference Finals in 2018 with the Houston Rockets.

Tucker was involved in the big James Harden trade earlier this season, and although he has hit just 27.3 percent of his 3-point attempts since joining the Clippers in that deal, he has a long history of being an effective outside shooter.

The Suns don’t quite have the same depth problems some predicted at the start of the season, but they still lack forward depth, especially at the power forward position.

The Western Conference is loaded with very good and great big forwards, such as LeBron James, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Zion Williamson, and Phoenix could use some help containing those players come playoff time.
