Killian Hayes was a first-round draft pick in 2020 but his career didn’t pan out like he wanted.
After four seasons with the Detroit Pistons, Hayes was recently waived by that team and is without an NBA home.
But that could be changing soon.
According to Erik Slater, the Brooklyn Nets are attending a workout for Hayes in Las Vegas on Monday.
Is this the first step to Hayes returning to the league?
The Nets are attending a workout for Killian Hayes today in Vegas, according to a source.
Hayes has averaged 8.1 points and 5.2 assists over four NBA seasons. The Pistons waived the 22-year-old midway through 2023-24.

Hayes averaged 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists last season for the Pistons and was on the floor for an average of 24 minutes per game.
Even for a team like the Pistons, Hayes wasn’t delivering enough and the team attempted to trade him to another franchise.
When that didn’t work out, they elected to waive him instead.
The bad news kept coming for Hayes because it was then announced that he wouldn’t be part of the French Olympic team either.
He hasn’t given up hope of making his way back to the NBA and the Nets might be able to sign him for a relatively inexpensive deal.
They are clearly in a rebuilding process and could be comfortable taking on a player with Hayes’ history, for the right price.
Hayes was the seventh pick in the 2020 draft and was seen as an international star who could bring a lot to the Pistons.
He faced a lot of problems on the floor and didn’t deliver on that promise, throwing the future of his career into jeopardy.
Maybe he is about to receive a second chance.
