After missing the postseason for the first time in six years, the Brooklyn Nets are looking to start a new chapter and get back on track.
Because of that, they just selected a new head coach and officially announced his hiring on Monday.
The Nets hopped on Twitter to reveal that Jordi Fernandez had been hired as head coach.
Fernandez will be the 24th head coach for the team and last worked as associate head coach for the Sacramento Kings.

The Nets are hoping their trajectory looks like the Kings’, as that team has been getting better over the years with its youthful energy.
Fernandez is a native of Spain and has had numerous jobs in the NBA and beyond.
He is also the coach of the Canadian men’s national team and helped them win a bronze medal in the Basketball World Cup last year.
The Nets are hoping that next season is much better than 2023-24.
The team finished with a 32-50 record and fired their previous head coach, Jacque Vaughn, at the All-Star break.
They have a lot of young talent and potential but they still missed the playoffs after making the postseason for five consecutive years.
The team has undergone quite a few coaching changes during that period, parting ways with Kenny Atkinson, Steve Nash, and then Vaughn.
Fernandez hopes that his time with the Nets is much longer, and much more beneficial than what those men experienced.
The Nets have a long offseason because they didn’t reach the playoffs, which gives Fernandez more time to choose a coaching staff to work with him.
He will also spend this period getting close to his new team, making plans, and preparing for the future.
