With the NBA trade deadline only about a week away on February 8, teams around the league are assessing their rosters and trying to decide if they need to make a move in order to improve their chances of being successful in the second half of the season as well as potentially make a deep run in the playoffs.
However, there are also teams whose chances of making a run in the postseason are slim to none, like the Brooklyn Nets, who are 19-27 and out of the playoff picture if the postseason began today.
Sometimes, teams in these positions become sellers at the trade deadline and attempt to clean house with the talented players on their squad up for grabs by the highest bidder.
Even though the Nets are having a disappointing season, it appears as though Brooklyn isn’t ready to clean house, with the team making Mikal Bridges, arguably their best player, unavailable in trade talks, according to Kelly Iko, Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic via NBA Central.
The Brooklyn Nets have ZERO interest in any deal involving Mikal Bridges, per @TheAthletic
He’s completely untouchable

Before the Phoenix Suns decided to trade Bridges to Brooklyn in the blockbuster deal involving superstar Kevin Durant, the forward was considered to be nothing more than a talented role player.
After arriving in Brooklyn last season, he flourished as the number one option and showed everyone around the league that he could be a star on the rise in the NBA.
Clearly, the Nets think highly of Bridges and want to continue to build around him moving forward.
