Nearly one year after his sudden death, a new turn of events has brought up the fatal accident that killed former Pittsburgh Steelers QB Dwayne Haskins.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the family and wife of Haskins have now filed a civil lawsuit to try and get to the bottom of his death.
Haskins’ attorney, The Ellsley Law Firm, sent out a press release in which they state that there’s a belief that the Ohio State standout was targeted as a part of “blackmail and robbery conspiracy.”

The initial reports stated that Haskins was at a club in Florida and drank heavily, getting involved in a heated exchange with an acquaintance before leaving the scene.
The forensic reports showed two samples of Haskins’ blood with .20 and .24 alcohol levels, respectively, way over Florida’s legal limit of .08.
Also, the Miami Herald reported that Haskins had tested positive for Norketamine and Ketamine, both used as an anesthetic and recreational drugs.
Now, the civil lawsuit states that there’s no way the dump truck driver hadn’t seen Haskins on the interstate before hitting him with the left side of his vehicle, adding that his “very expensive” watch had been stolen before his death.
They claim that there are way too many unanswered questions about his death and even urged all persons with any knowledge about the incident to reach out and speak up.
Hopefully, we’ll get some more clarity about this situation sooner rather than later.
