The Los Angeles Lakers made several big moves in free agency, locking up most of their key guys for the next couple of years at least.
However, they also made another move that went pretty much under the radar but could end up being quite impactful.
They signed Taurean Prince to a very team-friendly deal, and while he hasn’t exactly found his footing in the league just yet, he boasts a skill set that could be quite useful for this team.
Moreover, he’s looking to live up to the high standards that come with playing for the purple and gold, as he recently said when asked about his feelings after joining the team.

Prince claimed that he’s looking forward to shooting over 40% from beyond the arc, citing that it’s been a pending task of his for the past couple of years.
The Lakers shot the ball quite well in the playoffs but don’t exactly have a lot of shooters, so him being able to spread the floor would be big for them.
Prince has the skills to be one of the best 3-and-D players in the league, and while he’s not likely to be on the floor for long with this Lakers team, he might climb his way up Darvin Ham’s pecking order if he gets some stops.
Some argue that the Lakers didn’t get much better in the offseason, and they might be right.
But these minor moves often pay off, and he was a low-risk/high-reward pickup at this point in his career.
