The San Francisco 49ers are one of the top offensive teams in the NFL.

They are coming off of a season in which they finished ranked second in the league in total offense (398.4 YPG), third in rushing (140.5 YPG), and third in scoring (28.9 PPG).

Another key stat from 2023 also shows how elite this team is from an offensive perspective.

According to insider Warren Sharp, San Francisco led the league in plays that went 30+ yards with 36.

The next closest team is Green Bay, who had 33 such plays.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan knows exactly what he is doing with his offense.

It has been a well-oiled machine in the Bay Area for over a half-decade now.

Aside from an injury-riddled 2020 season, this team has won 10+ games in four of the last five seasons.

Additionally, they have either made the NFC Championship Game or the Super Bowl.

Whether it has been Jimmy Garoppolo, Trey Lance, or Brock Purdy at quarterback, Shanahan has been able to make it all work.

With arguably the best supporting cast in football, the likes of Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk have done wonders for this offense.

Still chasing that Super Bowl, Shanahan should have his offense ready to roll to contend in 2024.

The key will be in January when the lights are brightest, can they rise to the occasion?

They nearly fell asleep at the wheel against the Packers and Lions in the NFC playoffs before going to the Super Bowl and losing in overtime to the Chiefs.

That cannot happen again.
