By all accounts, the Pittsburgh Steelers are early in a rebuilding process just over a year after the retirement of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
They have an underwhelming new signal-caller in Kenny Pickett, who is coming off a rocky rookie season, but they do have some studs on the defensive side of the football, as well as a couple of solid wide receivers and running back Najee Harris.
Although the Steelers did not have a very high draft pick, analyst Ryan Wilson ranked their draft picks as the best of any team in the NFL this year.

At No. 14, they took University of Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones, who won AP All-SEC first-team honors last season.
He will be tasked with giving Pickett protection so that he can develop in his second season.
Pittsburgh then went with cornerback Joey Porter Jr. at No. 32, and he is a selection they’re very excited about.
He had 11 passes defended last season, and he was a fitting and heartwarming selection, as his father, Joey Porter, played linebacker for the Steelers from 1999 to 2006 while winning a Super Bowl ring with them in 2005.
Rounding out the Steelers’ draft choices were Keeanu Benton, a defensive lineman from the University of Wisconsin, Georgia tight end Darnell Washington, Wisconsin linebacker Nick Herbig, defensive back Cory Trice Jr. and Spencer Anderson, an offensive lineman from the University of Maryland.
It may be too soon to plan on Pittsburgh returning to the NFL playoffs, but perhaps they have already planted the seeds to do so.
