The Baltimore Ravens have a dark cloud hanging over them in the form of Lamar Jackson’s contract situation, but they took a step forward toward a brighter 2023 season when they signed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal worth $15 million.
It’s a lot of money for a man who suffered two torn ACLs in a span of less than 18 months and did not play at all in the NFL last season.
Still, ESPN analyst Mina Kimes feels the Ravens, with Beckham and new offensive coordinator Todd Monken, will punish teams with play-action sequences.
How prolific could this potential Ravens offense be under new OC Todd Monken?

The Ravens were one of the league’s best rushing teams in 2022, as they ranked second in rushing yards behind Jackson and their egalitarian committee of running backs.
However, their passing attack was weak, ranking just 28th in yards, and other than Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews, no one reached 500 receiving yards for them.
But that strong running game could open things up for Beckham, especially since opponents expect Baltimore to run the football time and time again.
The 15-million-dollar question for Beckham is how much he has left in the tank after his injuries.
After his first ACL injury in 2020, he had 537 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games during the 2021 campaign, which was a far cry from his first three seasons, in which he went over 1,300 yards each year.
The passing game was the one real weakness for Baltimore, especially since it finished ninth in total yards allowed and third in points given up, and if Beckham is spry enough, he could help it be very competitive and perhaps even win a playoff game next season.
