NFL Analyst Shares A Warning For Kyler Murray

The Arizona Cardinals have already been written off as competitors for the 2023 season as the roster is nowhere near the level of others across the NFL.

The Cardinals struggled to win games in 2022 and that trend will likely continue this year as the organization evaluates all the players and talent currently on the roster.

Arizona doesn’t have much of a direction right now, especially considering that they’ll begin the new season without Kyler Murray.

Murray has been recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered toward the end of last season and though he hasn’t endured any setbacks he is not expected to rejoin the team for several weeks.

Without Murray under center, the Cardinals will be starting either Clayton Tune or Joshua Dobbs for the foreseeable future.

Colt McCoy was the offseason favorite to man down the fort in place of Murray, but Arizona decided to cut him instead which prompted people like Ryan Dunleavy of NY Post Sports to speculate that they’re tanking for a new quarterback.

I’m sorry, but, what?#AZCardinals willingly are going to start a QB who either was acquired last week or a fifth-round rookie in Week 1.

Week 2 is vs. #Giants

I’d be nervous if I was Kyler Murray. This reeks of tank for QB. https://t.co/feYT3uHDVL

While Arizona has publicly supported Murray, Dunleavy’s point makes sense as the 2024 NFL Draft will be headlined by USC star Caleb Williams.

By all accounts, Williams is projected to go No. 1 overall and for good reason when looking at his production during college.

Even though Murray is a good quarterback himself, Williams represents more upside and the chance for a franchise to truly build around a well-touted prospect.

It’ll be interesting to see how intent Arizona is on losing games as it could indeed signal the end of Murray’s tenure.
