Fans have been trying to decipher what insider information Las Vegas sportsbooks have for years.
There is a reason that the house seemingly always wins, which is something that gamblers are consistently trying to figure out.
Sportsbooks tend to get more information than the average person, which is why betting lines tend to be a shifting target.
While lines for regular games tend to ebb and flow, they are nothing compared to the ever-changing nature of betting lines for the NFL Draft.
Take the 2023 NFL Draft, for instance.
In the days leading up to the draft, there was significant traction about Will Levis going No. 2 overall, but he ended up falling to the second round.
Could the same thing be happening with this year’s draft?
The Action Network recently tweeted that J.J. McCarthy’s line has shifted significantly on DraftKings.
He started as a +2000 favorite to be the No. 2 overall pick, but he is now at +900.

This means that the sportsbooks believe McCarthy has a better chance of being taken No. 2 overall than he did when they put out the initial lines.
It could mean nothing, which ended up being the case for Levis last year, or, this could mean that teams are starting to realize that there might be more to McCarthy than they initially realized.
After all, he did unsuspectingly lead Michigan to a national title last year, something that not many people expected heading into the season.
With this betting shift in mind, fans are that much more anxious about the draft, wondering where the quarterbacks will fall.
