After making a blockbuster trade with the Chicago Bears a few weeks ago, the Carolina Panthers will have the top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, which will take place later this month.

The million-dollar question has been who they will select with that pick — University of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud of Ohio State.

For a while, many felt Young would likely be their man, but the latest draft odds from Caesars Sportsbook show that Stroud is now the favorite.

Both men have the potential to be great at the next level, but Young stands (at most) six-feet tall and weighs less than 200 pounds, while Stroud has won fewer individual awards.

But no matter who will be under center for Carolina next season, there is no doubt it has assembled what looks like a competitive team.

They have brought in Adam Thielen, who has been the Minnesota Vikings’ second option at wide receiver for some time now, as well as DJ Chark, a solid wideout in his own right.

The Panthers will also have Miles Sanders, who made his first Pro Bowl in 2022 while running for 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The New Orleans Saints seem to be everyone’s favorite to finish first in the NFC South next season, but if the Panthers’ rookie QB does well, they could have a shot at stealing that spot from Derek Carr and company.

If nothing else, the future is looking bright for Carolina after a chaotic 2022 campaign in which they won just seven games.
