Ahead of the playoff showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans in January, rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers was involved in an incident off the field in Maryland that could’ve derailed his promising career in the NFL.
Allegedly, it was a domestic incident with a woman, and things didn’t look good for the rising star.
Flowers went on to play in the next two playoff games against the Texans and eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs but faced an uncertain future because of the off-the-field incident.
Although it took months to come to a conclusion, Flowers has been cleared of wrongdoing by the league and will not be punished by the NFL, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

This is great news for Flowers and the Ravens organization, as the young wide receiver turned out to be one of the best players for Baltimore last season, as he was able to strike up some chemistry with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Flowers became one of Jackson’s favorite targets in the passing game and, as a result, racked up 77 catches for 858 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
The rookie wide receiver also had some success in the NFL playoffs, catching nine passes for 156 receiving yards and a touchdown in two postseason games.
With Flowers in the fold in Baltimore moving forward, Jackson can continue to air it out and be a force to be reckoned with in the passing game, which bodes well for the future of the Ravens franchise.
