The NFL season is inching closer as we get set for offseason workouts and rookie minicamp.
There are still plenty of veteran free agents that need to be signed.
One free-agent quarterback that is still looking for a job is Carson Wentz.
Ever since he was traded from Philadelphia his career has been on a downhill trend.
Nonetheless, Wentz is prepared for whatever opportunity he might get this season.
According to Jeremy Fowler, Wentz has been working out in preparation for the season and he is open to any role.
Updated free agent QB Carson Wentz on @SportsCenter…He’s been working out in L.A. in preparation for the season, he’s received interest from teams and he might wait longer into offseason to see what develops. But he’s open to any role, I’m told (starter or backup)

Fowler also mentioned that Wentz has received interest from teams.
But waiting until later into the offseason may be his preferred option.
Last season Wentz started seven games for the Washington Commanders.
In those games, he had 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, along with a 2-5 record over those games.
At this point in his career, Wentz is no longer an option as a starter.
Once he signs somewhere it will be for a backup role.
Yet, he has shown the ability to play well in the past and maybe one team can get that version of him.
Being a good backup quarterback is one of the most underrated jobs in the NFL.
At a moment’s notice, you have to step in and run the offense.
This might be the final chance for Wentz to show he can still be an NFL quarterback.
So the hope is that he will make the most of whatever role he gets.
