The New England Patriots are in the early stages of a complete rebuild, which became even more undeniable when they traded star defensive end Matthew Judon to the Atlanta Falcons recently.
One NFL insider hinted there was more to the trade than simply wanting to continue rebuilding.
NBC Sports insider Albert Breer recently said “There was a little bit more to the Judon trade than just the contract situation” before adding that Judon was not very well-liked by the front office and the coaches and that they were “just sick of him.”

Being sick of a player is a solid reason to trade them, and Judon publicly pushing for a new contract and calling the team out on social media obviously didn’t help his case.
Judon had four sacks in four games last season before getting injured and at 32 years old given where the Pats are as a franchise, it made sense to trade him instead of signing him.
The Falcons are clearly all in for a championship after being a quarterback away from competing the past few seasons, and Judon will step right in as a premier pass rusher for a team that sorely needed one.
New England’s in-house replacements for Judon will be Joshua Uche and Anfernee Jennings, both of whom will be expected to up their sack totals this season to ease the loss of a superstar like Judon.
Fans hadn’t heard much about Judon causing problems behind the scenes, but if that’s true, it makes sense why the Pats wasted no time shipping him out of town.
