The quarterback market in the NFL has been a huge bull market for the last couple of years, and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
In just the last calendar year, Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, Tua Tagovailoa and Jordan Love have gotten humongous contract extensions that will pay each of them over $50 million a year on average, and there are a couple of other QBs who are set to secure big bags soon.
A new record extension could be just around the corner for someone, and Dianna Russini said on “The Jim Rome Show” that the Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott will be the first to break the $60 million a year barrier.

From all outward appearances, the Cowboys have been taking their time getting Prescott’s extension done, and it has led some to question whether they’re fully sold on keeping him as their franchise QB past this season.
While he has done very well overall over the years — he led the NFL in touchdown passes and was an MVP candidate last season — he has continually underperformed in big games, especially in the playoffs.
The thing that is complicating matters for the Cowboys is the fact that pass rusher Micah Parsons and All-Pro First Team wide receiver CeeDee Lamb are also due for big extensions of their own.
The pressure is definitely on “America’s Team” to keep its core together past this season and give itself more than one additional shot at winning the Super Bowl championship it hasn’t claimed since the 1995 season.
