The San Francisco 49ers seem all set for the future, or at least, they seem satisfied with what they have in their QB room.
GM John Lynch gave Brock Purdy the nod to be the starter if he’s healthy, and so did HC Kyle Shanahan.
In the wake of that news, multiple teams reportedly reached out to the Niners asking about Trey Lance’s availability.
Now, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Minnesota Vikings were one of those teams, citing that they showed an interest in him during the NFL Scouting Combine.

Lance was expected to take the reins of the offense last season before suffering a season-ending injury.
That was the second time in as many years that he failed to stay healthy, obviously setting his development back way more than expected.
But Lance was also one of the most promising prospects when the Niners traded up to the No. 3 spot to get him two years ago, so the upside and physical traits are still there.
The Vikings are looking to stay competitive while rebuilding, but they have to think about the future already.
Kirk Cousins isn’t getting any younger, and Lance would be a much better fit for their current timeline and aspirations.
The Niners are in no rush and don’t need to make a decision on Lance’s future just yet, especially with Purdy still nursing his way back from an elbow injury.
However, the team could and should at least consider their options, and if the price is right, maybe even move on from him.
