After a surprising loss to the New York Jets in Week 1, the Buffalo Bills quickly re-established themselves as a contender in the AFC with wins in their last three games.
Buffalo’s chances of contending this season might have taken a big hit on Sunday, however, as Bills All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano left the team’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday with a potential major knee injury.
According to NFL Media’s Jamie Erdahl, Milano was carted off of the field to the locker room with a cast on his leg from his shin to his thigh.

After Buffalo just lost cornerback Tre’Davious White for the season because of an Achilles injury, Milano having to miss any significant time due to an injury could be devastating for the team’s defense.
Coming off a 2022 season in which he was named a First-Team All-Pro for the first time in his NFL career, Milano was off to another great start this year with 27 tackles, two pass breakups, two interceptions, and one forced fumble in four games.
The veteran linebacker has been an essential part of the Bills’ defense ever since he arrived in 2017 as a fifth-round draft pick out of Boston College.
Now, with Milano potentially out for a significant amount of time, Buffalo might need their offense to step up their performance even more if they want to remain an AFC contender this season.
Luckily, the Bills have plenty of firepower on the offensive side of the ball, led by quarterback Josh Allen, wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, and running back James Cook.
If Buffalo needs more production from their offense now, they’re fully capable.
