The Philadelphia Eagles alternated a Super Bowl-caliber season with a very disappointing season.

We’re talking about a team that won ten of the first eleven games before dropping six out of seven.

That put Nick Sirianni, the very same coach who had led them to the Super Bowl the year prior, on the hot seat.

Some even thought the Eagles could let him go right away and make a run at Bill Belichick.

That wasn’t the case, but that doesn’t mean Sirianni is safe.

If anything, expectations have never been higher in the City of Brotherly Love.

NFL insider Dianna Russini claimed on her podcast that the Eagles are convinced that they’ve put together a championship-caliber roster, and as such, there will be no more room for excuses (via The Athletic).

Which NFL coaches are under the microscope right from the jump this season?

Russini added that the fans have never been patient in Philadelphia, remembering how they fired Doug Pederson shortly after winning a Super Bowl.

The Eagles’ front office has gone to great lengths not only to give Sirianni one of the best rosters in the league but also to give him two high-end assistant coaches to take some weight off his shoulders.

Adding Saquon Barkley, Vic Fangio, and Kellen Moore to a team that was already poised to make a run at a Super Bowl only makes them stronger on paper.

As such, the potential drop-off could be even louder, and anything short of a deep postseason trip might seal the end of Nick Sirianni’s tenure in charge of the team.
