The Washington Commanders are looking for their next franchise player.
As a matter of fact, their next quarterback might be their first franchise player, as the team is looking to transition into a new era and leave the Dan Snyder dark times behind them.
With that in mind, new owner Josh Harris wants to make sure that everything goes according to plan this time around.
That’s why he’s taken part in all interviews with the six top quarterback prospects they’ve met during the NFL Scouting Combine, according to Adam Schefter.

Schefter reports that owners rarely attend the combine, let alone partake in the interview process, so this hands-on approach is rather unusual.
Harris and the new ownership are expected to be uber-aggressive in free agency as well.
They freed up plenty of cap space with the big trades they made last season, and they also have plenty of draft capital to continue building their team for the future.
New HC Dan Quinn and new OC Kliff Kingsbury will have to make some thorough assessments of the quarterback they get.
Caleb Williams will most likely be gone by the time they’re on the clock at No. 2, but things get blurry when it comes to choosing between Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels.
As of now, it seems like the Commanders will lean towards the LSU product, who fits Kingsbury’s offense mold a little better, but as we’ve seen every year, anything can change in the weeks, days, and even hours leading to the NFL Draft.
