Heading into Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season, the Seattle Seahawks desperately wanted to bounce back after a forgettable performance against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams in Week 1.

Fortunately, the Seahawks were able to do just that, as they got the best of a very good Detriot Lions team in overtime, with quarterback Geno Smith and company getting their first win of the season.

Along with this game being one of the most entertaining of the weekend, as it was one of two that went into overtime on Sunday, it also came with one of the funniest moments of the weekend, thanks to Smith’s impatience.

As Smith argued an intentional grounding call, NFL referee Alex Kemp had the line of the day, as he said the following via NFL’s Twitter account.

“I’m talking to America here, excuse me.” the referee said.

That’s a priceless line that will likely end up on t-shirts and go down as one of the funniest things an NFL referee has ever said to a quarterback or an NFL player in general while speaking on the microphone.

Even though this would’ve been the main headline to come out of this game had the Seahawks lost on Sunday, Seattle was able to get the win as the result of Smith connecting with wide receiver Tyler Lockett on a six-yard touchdown pass in overtime.

Smith finished the game with some impressive numbers as the veteran quarterback threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns while connecting on 32 of 41 passes.

In Week 3, the Seahawks will try to keep things headed in the right direction as they take on the Carolina Panthers in Seattle.
