Last offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders traded for superstar wide receiver Davante Adams, which led many to think they had become Super Bowl contenders.

But throughout the 2022 season, they blew multiple leads and lost several close games, which led to them winning just six games and missing the playoffs.

This year, they have a new quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo, a proven leader who has played in two NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl as a starter.

Garoppolo started his career as an understudy to Tom Brady on the New England Patriots, and he is one of a number of new faces on the Raiders this season.

Analyst Albert Breer appeared on Colin Cowherd’s show and explained how he feels the influx of former Patriots players will make some type of positive impact in Las Vegas this fall.

“I think you’re going to see some of the hallmarks of the Patriots program coming to life there now.”

The Raiders certainly don’t lack talent — in addition to Adams and Garoppolo, they have running back Josh Jacobs, who led the NFL in rushing yards in 2022.

One of the other former Patriots they have added is wideout Jakobi Meyers, who put up 804 yards and six touchdowns last season and was around for Brady’s final season in New England.

On defense, former Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones joins Maxx Crosby to give Las Vegas a strong pass-rushing attack.

But simply making the playoffs could be an uphill climb given the profound amount of talent throughout the AFC.

In their own division, they will have to deal with the defending world champion Kansas City Chiefs, the skilled Los Angeles Chargers, and the motivated Denver Broncos.
