Once superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with a torn Achilles in his first series for the New York Jets this season, the storied franchise had to revert back to Zach Wilson as their starter, which meant nothing had changed compared to last season.

Fortunately, Wilson came in and was able to help lead the Jets to a season-opening win over the Buffalo Bills, who now appear to be the best team in the NFL.

That seemed to be a step in the right direction for Wilson and the Jets, but the team hasn’t won a game since, even though they came incredibly close to pulling off the upset over Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Wilson had arguably his best game on the NFL level against the Chiefs, throwing for 245 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

The only real issue with Wilson’s performance was a fumble, but he played pretty well against the Chiefs, which gives the Jets some hope for the future, especially when arguably the best defensive player in the league, Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys, gives him some praise.

Wilson is currently in one of the toughest situations in the NFL, as he has to fill in for a four-time MVP while trying to keep expectations high for a team that desperately needed an upgrade at the quarterback position due to his poor play.

Obviously, Week 4 was a step in the right direction, but unless he can keep it going in Week 5, it’ll be a rough rest of the season for the young quarterback, even with players like Parsons coming to his defense.
