NFL Team Finishes Season Without Scoring For 8 Straight Quarters

The Carolina Panthers were the worst team during the 2023 NFL season and it’s only fitting that their regular season ended in a whimper.

The Panthers were shutout 9-0 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, another example of how disjointed the team’s offense was.

Former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young hasn’t looked like the quarterback the team was hoping for when they traded a load of picks to select him last year, but Carolina didn’t do him many favors either.

The Panthers did a poor job of providing Young with a quality offensive line or receiving options to help him find his footing in the NFL.

Against Tampa Bay, Young almost had no chance of moving the football downfield as he was constantly under pressure against a defense that knew a win would punch their ticket to the 2023 NFL Playoffs.

Going scoreless in a game is an indictment on the offense, and Carolina managed to do it two games in a row via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

The #Panthers will finish the season having gone eight straight quarters without scoring a point,” Meirov tweeted.

In Week 17, the Panthers were also shutout by the Jacksonville Jaguars who beat them 26-0.

It’s almost impressive to see such offensive incompetency, though it’s easy to see why when looking at the roster.

Young hasn’t had much help from the running game, while the trio of Adam Thielen, DJ Chark, and Jonathan Mingo is uninspiring to say the least.

Some obvious areas need improvement, and it’s up to the front office to help fix those issues in the coming months.
