The biggest concern for the San Francisco 49ers after getting their quarterback situation taken care of was the immediate future for superstar defensive end Nick Bosa.

The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year was intent on getting paid this summer and was adamant about getting a new deal done with the 49ers before the start of the 2023 NFL season.

Although Bosa is one of the best defensive players in the league and worth his weight in gold at this point, it didn’t look like the two sides were seeing eye-to-eye on a new deal, with the team struggling to come to terms with the rising star.

Fortunately for both sides, a deal finally came to fruition a day before the start of the 2023 campaign, with Bosa becoming the highest-paid pass rusher in the league, as he has signed a five-year worth $170 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Although the 49ers would’ve preferred to get a deal done weeks ago in order to get Bosa some time in training camp and possibly some reps during preseason games, San Francisco was able to avoid these contract talks becoming a distraction heading into the regular season.

Now, the 49ers can focus on getting a win in Week 1 on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers and imposing their will on the league as a potential Super Bowl title contender.

With Bosa back in the fold, the 49ers are arguably one of the most talented teams in the NFL, with the ability to dominate on both sides of the football, which could lead to a trip to the big game.
