What will Paul George bring to the Philadelphia 76ers?

According to head coach Nick Nurse, George will provide a lot for the team in the new season.

Speaking to SiriusXM NBA Radio, Nurse said that George makes perfect sense in the lineup because the Sixers “needed something in the middle” and desired a “scoring wing.”

Nurse said that George is “capable of playing both ends” of the court, can make some amazing clutch plays, and has plenty of great experience that will help the team.

He made it clear that Sixers fans should be very excited about 2024-25 because of the addition of George.

How does Paul George fit the new look 76ers?

On paper, George makes a lot of sense for the 76ers.

He averaged 22.6 points and 5.2 rebounds last season, shooting a strong 47.1% from the field and 41.3% from beyond the three-point line.

He is clearly a very talented player capable of great things.

However, fans of the Los Angeles Clippers know that George’s greatness doesn’t always equal a lot of success.

The Clippers constantly struggled even with George posting strong numbers.

Does the same fate await the 76ers?

Nurse thinks that George will fit perfectly alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

This is a trio that could really make a splash in the Eastern Conference, but how far can they go?

Many people commented on the lackluster East last season but a slew of teams are going to get better, deeper, and healthier in the summer.

That means the competition will be fierce in the new year and Philadelphia will have to fight incredibly hard to come close to the Boston Celtics.

George will help the 76ers, but will he help enough?
