At this point in his NBA career, Philadelphia 76ers superstar center Joel Embiid is considered to be among the top players in the league, with a case that could be made he’s in the top three to five players in the NBA today.
Although Embiid is an NBA MVP candidate every single year and has an incredible skill set, which is rarely seen for a player of his size, he can’t stay healthy on a nightly basis.
This has put a limit on what Embiid can achieve during his playing career, as he can’t be counted on to be healthy for the 82-game grind of the regular season and the deep run in the NBA playoffs that is required to win a championship.
Even though the 76ers have advanced to the playoffs after taking down the Miami Heat recently in the Play-In Tournament, Embiid hasn’t looked like himself nor does he look like he can make it through a deep run in the postseason.
Nick Wright of FOX Sports argues that Embiid should start next season when the NBA All-Star Game is played midway through the regular season, via “First Things First.”
“I think next year, Joel Embiid should start [his season] at the All-Star Game,” Wright said.

Obviously, this is not possible as no player or organization is going to hold back their superstar player and face of the franchise for the first half of the regular season.
The 76ers simply have to live with the fact that Embiid is a player that is prone to injury and that they’ve got to take the good with the bad.
