On Monday, the Boston Celtics accomplished what everyone believed was inevitable by winning four games in a row over the hobbled Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals to advance to the NBA Finals for the second time in three years.

Although the Celtics were able to pull off the sweep against the Pacers, Indiana didn’t make things easy for Jayson Tatum and company, as they fought and clawed their way through three close games in the four that were played in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Unfortunately for Indiana, star guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered a hamstring injury early in the series, which likely changed the outcome drastically, even though Boston was favored from start to finish.

With that said, the Celtics didn’t exactly put on stellar performances against the shorthanded Pacers in order to get the sweep and advance to the Finals, which has left some questions about whether they can keep up with the red-hot Dallas Mavericks if they advance on Tuesday by pulling off a sweep of their own against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Nick Wright of FOX Sports wasn’t at all impressed by the sweep of the Pacers, as he doesn’t think anything Boston did in the series should be praised as they head to the Finals, via “First Things First.”

“I give the Celtics their respect, but I wasn’t impressed by the sweep,” Wright said.

With the Celtics having one of the easiest paths to the Finals in recent memory, there’s a chance that whichever team in the West advances will have the edge over Boston by being battled-tested in these NBA playoffs.

However, only time will tell whether that will be the case, as Boston will be well-rested and prepared for who they take on starting June 6.
