Nick Wright Makes Bold Prediction About Zach Wilson

With Aaron Rodgers lost for the 2023 NFL season due to a ruptured Achilles, the New York Jets will turn to Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback.

Wilson took over for Rodgers in the first quarter against the Buffalo Bills and looked average at best.

However, Wilson eventually settled in and made a few good throws to get the Jets back into the game.

His biggest moment came in the fourth quarter when he found Garrett Wilson in the end zone to tie up the game and force overtime.

New York would go on to win off a walk-off punt return in the extra period, but questions remain as to whether or not the Jets will stick with Wilson for the rest of the season.

Nick Wright doesn’t believe that Wilson will be the starter the rest of the way and is confident that he’ll get benched again at some via the What’s Wright Show.

“Everyone knows that Zach Wilson at some point is getting benched. … The sooner the Jets admit that the better because the rest of the team is good,” Wright said.

It’s hard to see New York benching Wilson right now considering the depth of their quarterback room, but the team has already been linked to several different veterans and free agents.

More likely than not, the Jets bring someone in to back up Wilson though there’s always the possibility that they take over if the former number two overall pick struggles again.

For now, the situation is worth monitoring.
