In a recent New York Times article, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo said he would not sign a contract extension unless he is confident the team will continue to be a championship contender in the years to come.

He will be able to opt out of his current contract in the summer of 2025, and if he doesn’t, that contract will expire the following offseason.

This has already led to speculation about where the Greek Freak could end up in a few years.

Nick Wright outlined three possible destinations for the two-time regular-season MVP on “First Things First” on Friday.

Wright’s first suggestion was the New York Knicks, a franchise that has been starving for a legitimate superstar ever since Patrick Ewing left in 2000.

Antetokounmpo heading to the Big Apple would be a lightning strike of a boost to a Knicks team that hasn’t gotten to the Eastern Conference Finals since Ewing’s final year there and hasn’t won a world title since 1973.

Wright then suggested the San Antonio Spurs, an organization that has been dormant for the last few years following the departures of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and Kawhi Leonard.

They have incoming rookie Victor Wembanyama, who has been described as a generational talent, and Wright said that by the time Antetokounmpo is available, the 7-foot-3 phenom could be in the discussion for being the best player in the world.

But Wembanyama would still be on his rookie contract, which would allow the Spurs to have the cap space to sign Antetokounmpo.

Wright’s third team was the Los Angeles Lakers, a team that is expected to see the departure of LeBron James within a couple of years.

They will still have Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura, and Antetokounmpo should be able to keep them at the elite level.
