The 2023 NFL season has been full of exciting games, but no team is generating more buzz than the Detroit Lions.

The Lions are coming off another win this past week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, cementing their status as the leaders in the NFC North and the conference in general.

Detroit finds themselves in a three-way tie for the number-one overall seed after both the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers were upset in Week 6.

The Lions were expected to make a leap under third-year head coach Dan Campell, but it’s hard to believe that they’ve been able to win games in such a convincing fashion.

Detroit has several young and talented players on the roster, but their offseason veteran additions have also helped shore up areas of need that were present last year.

The hype around the Lions is real and Nick Wright believes they’ve earned the right to be called the favorites to win the NFC via What’s Wright with Nick Wright.

“The Lions have the strongest argument that they should be considered the team to beat,” Wright said.

The Eagles and 49ers remain elite teams, but something must be said about how the Lions are currently playing.

Each and every week, Detroit is tough, physical, and tenacious in all phases of the game and doesn’t seem to have many clear weaknesses.

Jared Goff is playing arguably the best football of his career while Aidan Hutchinson is taking a leap as a pass rusher off the edge.

The Lions have been exciting to watch and it’ll be fun to see if they can keep their run going.
