The Team USA men’s basketball team is so talented and so deep that head coach Steve Kerr has plenty of options to choose from at any given time.

Still, plenty of analysts have been calling on Kerr to rely on a reliable starting five throughout the Olympics, especially for big and important games.

On his show “What’s Wright?” Nick Wright listed his ideal starting lineup for the Americans.

He said that Team USA should start each game with Steph Curry, Jrue Holiday, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Anthony Davis.

He followed that up by stating that the bench players should be Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards, Derrick White, and Bam Adebayo

He then had a third category, which he called the “we’ll call you if we need you guys,” consisting of Tyrese Haliburton, Joel Embiid, and Jayson Tatum.

Wright is simply stating what many NBA fans are saying.

There are plenty of people who believe that Curry, Holiday, James, Durant, and Davis should begin every game.

However, Kerr has been tinkering with his lineup and trying new and different things for each game.

It makes sense in many ways, mostly because every opponent is different and Kerr wants to make sure that Team USA is positioned to take them down.

Therefore, he will rely on bigger players for more physically intimidating competitors and smaller players for opponents who require more shooting.

As competition heats up, there is a chance that Kerr will turn to a more reliable starting five, which might look like Wright’s dream rotation.

But it’s also possible that Team USA will always be changing because of the depth and strength that runs throughout the roster.
