The Minnesota Timberwolves have been one of the surprise teams in the NBA during the 2023-24 campaign, with Anthony Edwards turning into a legitimate superstar and everything coming together around him on this team.
As a result of a stellar season, the Timberwolves were able to secure the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference and made easy work of Kevin Durant and the star-studded Phoenix Suns in the first round in four games.
With the Timberwolves flying high after getting the best of the Suns in the first round, Minnesota came into the second round against the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets as the underdogs, and understandably so, with Nikola Jokic and company looking like the team to beat in the postseason.
However, the Timberwolves seem to come into this series with the mindset that they are the best team in the West and have certainly played like it by getting two wins in Denver to start the second round, which has drawn the attention of Nick Wright of FOX Sports, who believes Minnesota put on a masterclass in Game 2 via First Things First.
“The series isn’t 100% over,” Wright said. “But Game 2 was a masterclass for the T’Wolves. Denver looked like some frontrunners.”

At this point in time, it could be argued that the series is over as it shifts to Minnesota for the next two games, but Denver is never a team to underestimate, especially with Jokic leading the way.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Nuggets can bounce back in Minnesota and make it a series in order to get back to Denver for Game 5.
