Throughout the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, everyone marveled at Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James holding off Father Time while leading Team USA during their tournament against the best of the best on the international stage.

James was making a statement with his play, as he seemed to be the perfect leader on the basketball floor for head coach Steve Kerr, and winning the gold medal appeared to be a foregone conclusion.

However, as the tournament got into the knockout stages, the competition was taken to another level entirely, which seemed to take Team USA by surprise, with Serbia, led by three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama’s French squad gave the Americans all they could handle.

Fortunately for Team USA, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was motivated and ready to have some breakout performances after being unable to find his role on this team throughout the exhibition game and the Group stage of the Olympics.

If it weren’t for Curry’s heroics against Serbia, the Americans would’ve surely lost, with the highest medal they could’ve won being the bronze, which ultimately went to Jokic’s squad when it was all said and done.

As if Serbia wasn’t a tough enough challenge, France was more than ready to compete in the gold medal game, but then Curry had another incredible performance, which led to Team USA coming out on top.

Nick Wright of FOX Sports believes that Curry’s performance capped off what has been a near-perfect basketball career via First Things First.

“It was the final piece of what has been an almost perfect basketball career.”

With the Warriors trending down and missing the NBA playoffs last season, Golden State’s days of contending for titles in the Western Conference in the Curry era might be over.

That said, this could very well be Curry’s last great performance with something on the line, which only further cements his legacy as one of the greatest guards ever to play the game.
