After barely getting the best of the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, the San Francisco 49ers have officially advanced to the NFC Championship Game, where the team will host the Detroit Lions at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.
Even though star quarterback Brock Purdy has led the 49ers to the NFC Championship Game two years in a row, with the odds strongly in the team’s favor to advance to the Super Bowl, the 24-year-old still has his fair share of doubters, namely Nick Wright of FOX Sports.
Purdy didn’t have his best game against the Packers, but he didn’t play all that bad either, as he threw for 252 yards and a touchdown without turning the ball over.
The 49ers were able to come out on top against the upstart Packers, 24-21, which was a little too close for comfort, but it’s the playoffs where anything can happen.
Despite Purdy getting this far with this team yet again, Wright believes the quarterback is San Francisco’s biggest weakness moving forward, as he said on “First Things First” on Monday.
.@getnickwright STILL doesn’t believe in Brock Purdy
“He did everything I asked him to do. I get that. But the truth is, I watched that game & thought he was the 49ers biggest weakness for a vast majority of the game. I know that makes me the villain.” pic.twitter.com/IisYE9puzk

At this point, it seems the only way Purdy is going to prove his doubters wrong is by winning the Super Bowl because he can’t seem to win even when the 49ers advance in the NFL playoffs.
Heading into the playoff matchup with the Lions, the 49ers are the heavy favorites, with the consensus being they’ll advance to the Super Bowl to face the winner of the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens.
