The Kansas City Chiefs are thriving defensively.
As a matter of fact, this is the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era that they actually have a top-five defense on most metrics.
Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem like their offense has been as proficient as it has been in other years.
The narrative around the team is that they’ve struggled offensively without Eric Bieniemy, but sports analyst Nick Wright doesn’t want to hear anything about that.
The Chiefs “struggling offense” by the numbers…
#5 in points
#2 in passing yards
#2 in passing touchdowns
#4 in Passer Rating
#2 in QBR
This despite having the 7th most turnovers in the NFL. Once the silly turnovers stop, which they will, they’re the best offense in football.

That’s why he took to Twitter to let everybody know that there has been absolutely nothing wrong with the Chiefs’ offense this season.
Per Wright, the Chiefs are No. 5 in points scored, No. 2 in passing yards, No. 2 in passing touchdowns, and No. 2 in QR, all despite having the seventh most turnovers in the league.
Wright added that once they clean things up and stop turning the ball over, they will be the best offense in the game again.
Mahomes has thrown more interceptions than per usual, but he’s also had little help from his receiving corps.
The Chiefs just brought back a familiar face in Mecole Hardman to help with that, as he just doesn’t have another reliable pass-catcher outside of Travis Kelce.
Also, losing Eric Bienemy as Offensive Coordinator was a big blow.
He was the architect behind their explosive defense, and with all due respect, a much better offensive mind than Matt Nagy.
But at the end of the day, they’ll be just fine for as long as they have Patrick Mahomes.
