The Denver Nuggets have the best player in the league right now.
Nikola Jokic didn’t win back-to-back MVPs last season, and that’s despite almost averaging a triple-double as a center.
Now, with Joel Embiid no longer being eligible for the award, the Serbian big man could run away with the distinction.
At least, that’s how people in Colorado seem to feel about him, as he was greeted with MVP chants when he attended the Colorado Avalanche’s match on Tuesday night (Via SportsCenter).

Notably, the Denver Nuggets haven’t been as dominant this season, currently sitting on the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference.
Jokic, however, has been as spectacular as always, averaging a whopping 26.1 points to go along with 12.0 rebounds, 8.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 three-pointers on 57% from the floor.
He’s already secured a spot in the Hall of Fame, and the defending champions will always be a force to be reckoned with for as long as he’s healthy and on the floor.
Mike Malone’s side will always have a strong homecourt advantage, and this team has proven to be tailor-made for the playoffs, so they cannot be overlooked even if they’re not the No. 1 seed in the Conference anymore.
Also, this team seems to be taking things a little lighter this season, as defending champions usually do.
They already know what it takes to get the job done when it matters the most.
