The Denver Nuggets became the NBA champions last season following a sensational playoff run led by none other than Nikola Jokic.

Jokic and the Nuggets had a historic run as they had a 16-4 record in the postseason, which is the second-best playoff record for an NBA champion since the league expanded to a best-of-seven series.

Despite their success, many were skeptical of the Nuggets’ ability to defend their title in the 2023-24 season.

However, the Nuggets keep proving everyone wrong as the franchise improved to 7-1 for the season following a dominant win against the New Orleans Pelicans.

After the game, Jokic gave a hysterical press conference where he didn’t even allow reporters to ask questions, as revealed via the NBA’s official Twitter handle.

“I know what you’re gonna ask,” Jokic joked.

The defense, the media…

In a comfortable 134-116 win over the Pelicans, Jokic put up 35 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists for the Nuggets.

It was yet another sensational performance by the Serbian superstar, but it doesn’t really surprise fans anymore.

Jokic is currently averaging 28.4 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game for the Nuggets this season.

He’s just 1.6 assists per game away from averaging a triple-double for the season.

But even without Jokic nearly averaging a triple-double for the season, the Nuggets are certainly playing with a level of urgency that makes them a tough team to beat.

Can the Nuggets maintain this form throughout the season and ultimately win back-to-back NBA Championships?

Right now, there seems to be nothing that can stop them, as they have the best record in the NBA and are dominating their opponents.
