Last season, the Denver Nuggets wiped the floor with the competition in the Western Conference as Nikola Jokic and company easily paved their way to the NBA Finals to take on the Miami Heat.
Even though the Heat were proving to be one of the best underdog stories in league history, Jimmy Butler and company couldn’t keep up with the Nuggets, who were destined to win their first NBA title in franchise history.
Ultimately, the Nuggets beat the Heat in five games, resulting in Jokic lifting the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the first time in his career, with many believing it wouldn’t be the last time he’d be able to make that happen in Denver.
With the playoffs right around the corner this season, the Nuggets are in a great position to win it all for a second-straight season, as Denver is currently battling it out for the top seed in the West and looks like the best team in the league once again.
When asked what the difference is between this year and last year in terms of the Nuggets making a run at a title, Jokic had a classic respons,e via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.
“We want to go to Las Vegas again to party,” Jokic said. “So that’s why we want to win a championship again.”

Clearly, Jokic has his head on straight and the right motivation moving forward, as Las Vegas left quite an impression on the two-time NBA MVP.
Although the competition in the West is tougher this time around, Denver still looks like the favorite heading into the postseason as long as they can get star guard Jamal Murray back healthy.
