For most of history, NBA fans have chosen between LeBron James and Michael Jordan as the greatest players to ever lace them up.
So rarely do you see anybody else cracking the list or entering the debate, even though there are more than enough suitable candidates.
Résumé and talent-wise, we could talk about the likes of Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, or even Tim Duncan as potential candidates to sit at the same table.
Notably, Miami Heat youngster Nikola Jovic has someone else he’d like to make a case for.
Recently, the Serbian revealed that he’s a big fan of Russell Westbrook, calling him his GOAT (Via HoopsHypte & NBA Central).

He claimed that, besides Jordan, he always admired Westbrook for the way he left it all on the court on any given night, playing every single game as if it were his last one.
That’s something that has defined Westbrook throughout the course of his entire career.
He only has one speed, and it’s full speed.
That has also been a blessing and a curse for him, as it has also led him to make some avoidable mistakes in key moments of games.
Even so, his passion and delivery are unmatched in today’s game.
Westbrook has silenced plenty of his critics for taking big pay cuts and even embracing a lesser role for the sake of his team, and that speaks volumes about him not only as a teammate but also as a competitor and someone who’s madly in love with the game of basketball.
