The Denver Nuggets failed to repeat as NBA champions this year after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Semi-Finals.

Looking ahead to next season, they will want to keep all of their core pieces together in an effort to contend for another championship.

However, it seems as though they could be moving on from one of their key starters this offseason.

According to insider Evan Sidery, the team does not want to get into a bidding war over veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

“If a team offers a high annual value to Caldwell-Pope out of their price range, they will let him walk,” Sidery recently noted.

The 31-year-old had been a solid role player on the team for the last few seasons.

He started 76 games in back-to-back seasons with the team and averaged over 10 points per game while shooting over 40% from three-point range.

Caldwell-Pope, if not brought back by Denver, should be coveted by plenty of contending teams out there.

The two-time champion will be entering his 12th NBA season and brings plenty of experience as a role player.

In his 11 NBA seasons, he has averaged over 10 points per game in eight of those years.

Additionally, he knows how to play on both a rebuilding team and a championship team.

He was drafted by the Pistons back in 2013 and played four years there before heading to the Lakers to win a championship.

After his four seasons in Los Angeles, he spent 2021-2022 in Washington before joining the Nuggets for the past two seasons.

Contending teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks should all try to acquire him if they want a veteran piece to bring them some juice.
