Ben Simmons has been shut down by the Brooklyn Nets for the rest of this NBA season.
This situation only fueled criticism for the player, who can’t catch a break.
Ever since the infamous 2021 NBA playoffs, Simmons became some sort of a villain around the NBA.
Not only do Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets fans criticize him, but pretty much the entire league.
Talking with Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Denver Nuggets’ guard Michael Porter Jr. came in Simmons’ defense.
“I watched a little highlight video from a couple years ago — he’s just flying down the lane. He’ll get that back, but it just takes time,” Porter said. Anything with the back, it just inhibits a little bit of explosiveness.”

Amid huge criticism, Simmons has found people who have his back and are willing to defend him.
Some have offered some encouraging words like Kevin Garnett, who wants to see Simmons back at the top of his game.
The former Rookie of the Year award winner is still young and many believe he can go back to his best days, but something must change fast.
Simmons just finished his season with the Nets, posting 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists per outing in 42 games.
This was a tumultuous season for the Brooklynites. They lost their two big stars around the trade deadline and Simmons didn’t show up when they needed him.
Next season will be crucial for him, but it remains to be seen if the Nets want to keep Simmons on the roster.
The regression has been huge since he first entered the league compared to the 2022-23 NBA season.
NBA fans are always ready to trash Simmons, and if he wants to stop that narrative, then it’s time to train hard again and prove doubters wrong.
