As a result of coming back from down 20 to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night in Game 2, the Denver Nuggets were able to take a 2-0 lead in their first-round series against LeBron James and company, with the series now shifting to the City of Angels for the next two games.

Along with taking a commanding lead in this first-round matchup, the Nuggets have beaten the Lakers 10 straight times, which is about as dominant as it gets when facing a supposed rival.

As if it wasn’t embarrassing enough to lose at the buzzer due to a game-winning shot by Jamal Murray after erasing the 20-point deficit, losing 10 straight to a team that stands in the way of advancing to the second round makes the Lakers’ immediate future bleak.

Former Laker and current Nuggets guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope talked about what it is like to beat his former team 10 times in a row and how special his Denver squad is in these situations, via The Jim Rome Show.

“We never panic when we’re up 20, down 20,” Caldwell-Pope said. “It’s just all about basketball … Everybody holds each other accountable.”

On Thursday, these two teams will get back to work, with the Lakers set to host the defending champions at Crypto.com Arena for Game 3, where Los Angeles will try to make it a series.

Fortunately for Los Angeles, the Lakers are expected to get forwards Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Wood back in the fold for Game 3, which could help them make this a series and put some pressure on the defending champions.
