The Philadelphia 76ers made several headlines this past offseason due to James Harden’s trade request from the team.
After a complicated tug of war, Harden got his request fulfilled as he was acquired via trade by the Los Angeles Clippers.
While many expected the 76ers to struggle without Harden on the roster, the team is off to a 4-1 start to the 2023-24 season.
In fact, according to Josh Schrager via Twitter, the 76ers became the first team in NBA history to have four players average at least 20.0 points per game over a team’s first five games in the season.

As mentioned in the above-attached tweet, the 76ers had four players average at least 20.0 points per game during the first five games of the season.
Embiid led the pack with 29.4 points per game, followed by Tyrese Maxey, who averaged 26.2 points per game.
This is followed by Kelly Oubre Jr. and Tobias Harris, who have averaged 21.0 and 20.0 points per game, respectively.
Thanks to the red-hot start for the four stars, the 76ers currently flaunt a 4-1 record.
They are currently the second seed in the Eastern Conference, only behind the Boston Celtics, who have an unbeaten 5-0 record so far.
All things considered, the 76ers are playing like a well-oiled machine after the blockbuster James Harden trade.
If the 76ers can maintain this form throughout the season, they will have a shot at making the 2024 NBA Finals.
Is it a real possibility, or a pipe dream for 76ers fans? Only time will tell.
