The Golden State Warriors have been the team to beat over the past decade.
They became the latest NBA dynasty, putting an end to LeBron James’ run and beating them three times in the NBA Finals.
Notably, most of that has had to do with Stephen Curry’s rise to stardom.
The greatest shooter of all time has changed the game, up to the point where children are pulling up from halfcourt in warmups.
Whether that’s a good thing or not is not for us to debate, but Curry’s influence in the game over the past two decades has been unmatched.
That’s even more evident when you take a look at the Warriors’ franchise evaluation.
According to a report by Sportico (via Legion Hoops), the Warriors were worth $315 million during Curry’s rookie year in 2009.
Fast forward to today, and they’re now worth a whopping $8.2 billion.

The Stephen Curry effect is real.
This was supposed to be the LeBron era, yet he took the bull by the horns and won as many championships as him in a seven-year run.
Curry can still go down as the greatest point guard of all time, and even though he’s not a traditional pass-first kind of guy like Magic Johnson, it would be hard to make a case against that distinction if he manages to lead this ever-struggling franchise to the mountaintop again before he walks away from the game.
