When you are the back-to-back defending NFL champions, the bar is now set ridiculously high.
So high, in fact, that to accomplish the success of the last two seasons again would be to reach a level that has never been achieved in league history.
But that’s the rarified air now occupied by Kansas City, and prognosticators believe the team is well-prepared to defend its two consecutive crowns.
NBC Sports Bet noted that DraftKings Sportsbook has the over/under for Kansas City wins for the coming 2024 season at 11.5.
Can the defending back-to-back champions reach a dozen wins?

The smart money would be on the over, even after the team managed only 11 wins during the 2023 regular season.
After all, the lack of quality wide receivers and uncharacteristic struggles led to the Chiefs having to play two playoff games on the road.
Most experts felt that this would be the year when either Buffalo or AFC No. 1 seed Baltimore would break through and represent the conference in the Super Bowl.
But despite the underwhelming pedigree entering the playoffs, Mahomes and the surprisingly robust Kansas City defense plowed through the field and secured another title for the Midwest.
The bar of 11.5 wins shows the level of respect for the organization, which hardly rested on its laurels in the offseason.
The team hit the free-agent market and utilized the draft to gather more weapons to surround Mahomes with, and who honestly believes that going all-in around the quarterback will not pay dividends?
